Information on the 2024 Campaign Coming Soon

News

It’s that time of year again and UTSA is getting ready to kick off our 2016 State Employee Charitable Campaign! The SECC is a charitable giving campaign for state employees. This year’s campaign will run Oct. 3-Nov. 4. Donations can be made online or in person using a paper pledge form. One hundred percent of the proceeds collected during the campaign will benefit the charitable organizations listed in the SECC 2016 Directory of Charities – both independent charities as well as those operating within the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County are included – you can give to the charities of your choice! All employees who make a donation will be entered into special prize drawings each week throughout the month of October.

We will kick off the 2016 State Employee Charitable campaign (SECC) with an Agency Fair on Oct. 4-5 at the Main and Downtown campuses. The free event will give attendees a chance to learn about the different charitable organizations that benefit from the donations received during the campaign. Faculty and staff attendees at both events will receive a free $5 voucher to use at the Starbucks locations on both campuses while they last – so come early! A UTSA ID is required to receive the voucher.

The kickoff events are:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 4, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Main Campus Sombrilla Plaza
  • Wednesday, Oct. 5, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Downtown Campus, Buena Vista Building Assembly Room (1.338)

In addition, the SECC is collecting books for their upcoming book sale. Donation boxes are located around both campuses. The book sale will be held Oct. 26-27 in the Sombrilla Plaza on the Main Campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The SECC will also host an online auction starting in October that will run through November. Faculty, staff, students and community members are welcome to bid on the auction items.

Over the past 18 years, millions of dollars have been donated through the SECC. Last year, UTSA employees donated $193,416 during the 2015 campaign.

This year we would love to see 100% participation from our department! Please let me know if you have any questions so we can all support the many deserving charitable organizations in San Antonio!
